AN ILLUSTRATED HISTORY of

2214 (USWORTH) SQUADRON

Air Training Corps

The Project aims to create a Book of the Illustrated History of 2214 ( USWORTH ) Squadron, (A unit of Durham / Northumberland Wing) Air Cadets.
Pictures will show People, Places, Events, Aircraft etc., in fact anything showing the Squadron in action, whatever the subject.
With your help in supplying photographs, we should be able to create a book worthy of the Squadron's past achievements.

All photographs will be returned. Inclusion will be subject to editorial assessment, but all pictures will be stored in an archive (CD) for historical reference. Please help us to keep the historical perspective of the Squadron by turning your pictures into History.

An Illustrated History

Beginnings of the Air Training Corps

The Air Training Corps began as the ADCC (Air Defence Cadet Corps) in 1938, which amalgamated into the new ATC in 1941.  Air Commodore J Chamier
its founder, became known as the father of the ATC. Mainly used to provide recruits for the RAF in wartime, it has evolved and expanded into one of the premier youth organizations in the country today.
